Bobby Ewing, Restaurant Leader

Bobby Ewing brings a unique blend of genuine hospitality and enigmatic energy to V. Born in Montreal but raised in Greater Vancouver, he always knew he wanted a career that would leave an indelible impression on others – and make his mom and grandma proud. Enter Earls Restaurants, where Bobby has, at one time or another, worked every single back- and front-of-house position since 1996.

Bobby relishes his current role as Restaurant Leader of both Earls Restaurant Yaletown and its intriguing alter-ego, V. Having dined at a multitude of hotspots in prime destinations across North America, Bobby is a trend-setter and apparent inspiration for major motion pictures. Just ask him about a seven-day encounter in Las Vegas which involved a lost tooth and an altercation with Mike Tyson – months before The Hangover was released in theatres. In his spare time, Bobby enjoys V’s handcrafted vodka cocktails, hitting great restaurants with good friends and waiting for residual cheques from Warner Bros.


Jenn Wickham, Leader

Jenn Wickham started her journey with Earls Restaurants in December of 2008, with the opening of Earls Yaletown and V. No spring chicken when it comes to the hospitality industry, Jenn has learned a wide range of skills over the past six years, from mixing a hand-crafted cocktail (V’s Strawberry Blonde is her personal favourite) to managing a Yaletown dinner rush with the greatest of ease (and poise). Her next goal? To master every role in the kitchen and truly become a guru in her field.

Jenn’s passion for everything food and drink doesn’t stop there. A world traveler at heart, Jenn has visited 20 different countries and, of course, tempted her taste buds with a variety of local delicacies from across the globe – Cambodian marinated tarantula, anyone? While most would consider eating a huge fuzzy spider their biggest feat, Jenn managed to top that by skydiving over the beaches of Cairns, Australia. Next up for the self-confessed daredevil? Mastering downtown Vancouver’s maze of one-way streets as she relocates from Richmond, and surmounting her biggest challenge to date – taking the reins at Yaletown’s only vodka lounge, V.


Kate Allen, Sales + Event Coordinator

If Kate Allen was the star of an 80s sitcom, it might have been called “Kate in Charge.” As V’s resident Sales + Event Coordinator, Kate plans every group function right down to the tiniest detail, ensuring that each one goes off without a hitch. With eight years of experience at Joey Restaurant and a part-time gig working for a local wedding consulting firm under her belt, she knows how to party – and plan them.

Kate is a bona fide foodie who loves trying new things, travelling to new places (current favourite: Italy) and tasting new food, while extending her endless event-planning knowledge to clients in need of no-stress, no-nonsense group functions. Look for her after hours (work hours, that is) enjoying a delicious, fruit-forward glass of red wine at V’s bar, dreaming of a vacation under the Tuscan sun.


Martin Keyer, Kitchen Leader

Hailing originally from the GTA (otherwise known to Vancouverites as the Greater Toronto Area), Martin Keyer moved to the left coast as a youngster. Martin ignited his passion for food while working as a line and prep cook at Earls Restaurants. He left his footprint (in the shape of his favourite chef clogs, of course) in the kitchens of Earls locations in Abbotsford, Surrey and Victoria before landing at Earls Restaurant and V in Yaletown, where he operates the company’s only dedicated event-based kitchen.

Martin’s passion for the culinary arts is most evident when crafting any combination of customized canapés, plates and buffets for a myriad of special events. Willing to try anything once, his speciality lies in his ability to capture ethnic flavours, from Jamaican to Filipino to Italian, to create especially memorable dining experiences for group clients at V. Never one to say “no” to a request, Martin thrives on culinary challenges, extensive knowledge of obscure films and extra helpings of Red Bull.
